 The international Egyptian surgeon, Dr. Kareem Abu El-Magd, Head of the Department of Digestive Surgery and Intestinal Transplantation at the American Cleveland Hospital, arrived on a two-week visit to perform delicate operations on gastrointestinal patients inside Peoples Hospital to treat heart and digestive system patients free of charge.

Abu El-Magd added in exclusive statements to “Youm 7” that this visit will last 15 days and two operations will be performed daily, with the help of his medical team, pointing out that all members of his medical team are distinguished Egyptian doctors in this field so that he can transfer all his experiences to a new generation. He pointed out that his medical team meets patients, examines them, and communicates with him during his time outside the country, and cases that need quick surgery are identified according to the risk level to be performed upon his arrival in Cairo, indicating that esophageal transplant operations will be performed for two children from within the intestines. Dr. Karim Abu El-Magd continued that during this visit, precise and extremely dangerous operations will also be performed, especially to lengthen the intestines of one of the patients, rearrange the intestines, in addition to removing colon tumors, in addition to repairing the gastric sleeve operations that are performed in Egypt.
 
Dr. Karim Abu El-Magd revealed that there are some gastric sleeve operations that are performed with the aim of losing weight, after which the patient is exposed to huge problems in the digestive system and intestines that require precise operations on the stomach.
